Medicare Standards

Note: This is an abbreviated version of the supplier standard every Medicare DMEPOS supplier must meet in order to obtain and retain their billing privileges. These standards, in their entirety, are listed in 42 C.F.R 424.57c.

1. Home Again Medical complies with all state and federal licensure and regulatory requirements.
2. Home Again Medical provides complete and accurate information on DMEPOS supplier applications.
3. Home Again Medical requires a binding signature on billing privilege applications.
4. In response to orders which Home Again Medical receives, orders are filled from our own inventory or inventory of companies which we have contracted to fill such orders or fabricate or fit items for sales from supplies it has under contract.
5. Home Again Medical advises beneficiaries or rental and purchase options on equipment.
6. Home Again Medical honors all warranties, express or implied, under applicable law.
7. Home Again Medical maintains a physical facility on an appropriate site.
8. Home Again Medical allows CMS or its agents on-site inspections for compliance.
9. Home Again Medical publishes its primary phone in a local directory.
10. Home Again Medical has appropriate liability insurance.
11. Home Again Medical does not solicit new beneficiaries on the telephone.
12. Home Again Medical is responsible for delivery of Medicare covered items to Medicare beneficiaries.
13. Home Again Medical answers questions and responds to complaints of beneficiaries and maintains documentation of such contacts.
14. Home Again Medical maintains and repairs directly, or through service contract with another company, items that it rents to Medicare beneficiaries.
15. Home Again Medical accepts returns of substandard (less than full quality for a particular item) or unsuitable (inappropriate for the beneficiary at the time it was fitted and/or sold) from Medicare beneficiaries.
16. Home Again Medical discloses the supplier standard to each beneficiary to whom it supplies a Medicare covered item.
17. Home Again Medial complies with the disclosure provisions in the above cited statute and regulations.
18. Home Again Medical does not convey or reassign its Medicare billing number.
19. Home Again Medical maintains and carries a complaint resolution program at the facility.
20. Home Again Medical complaint resolution program records the name, address, phone number and health insurance claim number for the beneficiary plus a summary of the complaint and actions taken to resolve the complaint.
21. Home Again Medical agrees to furnish CMS information required by Medicare statute and regulations.
22. Home Again Medical has received accreditation for all of its services from a CMS approved organization.
23. Home Again Medical will notify their accreditation organization when a new location is opened.
24. Home Again Medical must have accreditation for all locations, owned or subcontracted.
25. Home Again Medical has disclosed all products and services for which it has been accredited.
26. Home Again Medical has met the surety bond requirement.
